Internship Program

The Consulate General of the Dominican Republic in Chicago is pleased to announce the opening of its Internship Program, designed for young members of the Dominican community who wish to gain hands-on consular experience, strengthen their academic and civic development, and gain a close understanding of public service, citizen assistance, document management, cultural promotion, and community engagement.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a Dominican citizen, of Dominican descent, or have a demonstrable connection to the Dominican community.
  • Be between 18 and 30 years of age.
  • Reside in Illinois or in one of the states under the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of the Dominican Republic in Chicago: Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, or Wisconsin.
  • Be currently enrolled in university, technical, or higher education studies, or have recently completed a degree or academic program.
  • Possess strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrate responsibility, punctuality, institutional commitment, discretion, and ethical conduct.
  • Be willing to comply with the Consulate's internal policies, including confidentiality, data protection, and respectful treatment of the public.
