- Parents' national identity card valid from 2024 onwards, or a copy of both sides. If the parents are deceased, a copy of the Dominican death certificate in Spanish is required. If it is in English because the death occurred in the United States, please inform us so we can send you the requirements for its transcription.

- ID with current address and photo. If you do not have an ID from the state where you reside, you must provide proof of address.

Fee
- Price: This service is free
- Price of the document: $25 (payment by credit/debit card)
Delivery Time
1 to 3 business days
Observations
- The delivery process is done in person, as it requires fingerprints. This may involve a second visit.
- If you obtained your ID card when it was in cardboard format, you must complete the process as if it were for the first time.
- If your family members' national identity cards expire this year or in 2024, they do not need to renew them because the Central Electoral Board (JCE) will issue a new identity card to all Dominican nationals. They can complete the process with the expired card until the JCE announces otherwise.
- The photo for the ID card is taken here with a blue background, so you must come wearing a shirt or polo shirt of a different color.
- If you don't have your birth certificate, you can obtain it from the Central Electoral Board which is located here at our facilities. Please request it now so the process can move forward. The email address is chicago@jce.do
If it has been a long time since you last requested your birth certificate, the validation process could take some time (it will depend on each case).
For appointments or inquiries, please send a message including your name and phone number to the email: chicago@jce.do
