Identity Card Renewal (Due To Expiration)

• Copy of the expired identity card or knowledge of its number. Applies if it expired before 2024.

Fee: This service is free of charge.

Identity Card Replacement (Due To Loss)

• Know your identity card number. If unknown, you must provide the following information:
• Full names of the person requesting the document.
• Date and place of birth of the person requesting the document.
• Full names of both parents.

Fee: 15 dollars (payment by credit/debit card).

Remarks

• If you obtained your identity card when it was in cardboard format, you must complete the process as if it were your first time.
• If your family members’ identity cards expire this year or in 2024, renewal is not required because the Central Electoral Board (JCE) will issue new identity cards to all Dominican nationals. You may use the expired card until the JCE announces otherwise.
• The photo for the identity card is taken here with a blue background, so you should wear a shirt or polo of a different color.
• If you do not have the birth certificate, you can obtain it at the Central Electoral Board located here in our facilities. Please request it in advance to expedite the process. The email is chicago@jce.do.
